Insulation in South Yarra for Year-Round Comfort

Proper insulation can reduce heating and cooling costs by up to 40 percent. The exact savings depend on your home’s current insulation, the R-value of the new material and how well the installation seals gaps and draughts.

For South Yarra’s climate, ceiling insulation is commonly installed at R4.0 to R6.0. Higher R-values provide better thermal resistance but may not be necessary for all homes. We assess your roof space and recommend the best option.

For existing homes, we can inject loose-fill or blow-in insulation into wall cavities through small holes drilled in the plaster. This is less invasive than removing walls and works well for double-brick or cavity-brick construction.

A standard ceiling insulation job in an average-sized home takes about half a day. Wall or underfloor insulation may take a full day, depending on access and the complexity of the job. We always provide a time estimate during the quote.

Yes, especially for homes on stumps. Underfloor insulation blocks cold air rising from the crawl space, which can account for up to 20 percent of heat loss in winter. It also helps reduce draughts and moisture issues.

Clear the roof space of stored items and ensure easy access to the manhole. For underfloor work, remove any items stored under the house. We’ll handle the rest, including laying drop sheets to protect your home.
